Happy Unbirthday, Alice Little!

Alice Little, my protagonist, the ONLY character to have a birthday in my series Down the Rabbit Hole, turns two times 24 today! What does that mean!? Well, lets get into that as well as discuss who Alice is and who our main character is, and a little BTS for our Patreons!

First, let's start with the date, it's May 4th, 2026, Alice Little turns 24 today! Why this date, well, it's because the inspiration for the original Alice in Wonderland, Alice Liddell was born May 4, 1852, of course, of course! So, it was only natural that our protagonist Alice Little would share the same birthday.

Now, this is a remnant of a plot line I cut from the finished piece, but it's still a small little nod towards the original piece of literature as well as an idea to the amount of research I put into developing this series, its characters, and some of the Easter Eggs within the series.

I promise, it'll all make sense in the end.

But for now, I love the idea that my Alice Little is the only one of my characters who has a birthday. She's a mortal girl from our world, and all the other characters are immortal beings in a world outside our own who don't have a concept of time, so of course, they wouldn't have birthday's then!

Is anyone here good at astrology? I've never been good at understanding that stuff, but what does that make her?

How curious, that's very much like her! She's not so much about the finer things in life, but definitely appreciates artistic beauty, Mad's delicious food, and the clothes he weaves for her.

"Loving comfort, you are a tactile person. You enjoy plush lounges and fluffy rugs and being surrounded by soothing things. You prefer natural materials in your clothing, so cotton, silk, and cashmere are on your wish list."

This is very much like Alice. She only wants a simple, comforting life. Loves the carpets in Mad's home, loves the cloves and grass on her bare toes within their hidden cavern under the Wonderland Woods, and adores objects.

"In your home life, you also value harmony. Thus, you look for stability in your relationship, and you are incredibly loyal to your partner. Taurus values sensuality and touch, too, which doesn’t hurt things. While you want your partner to have eyes only for you, you do not usually tip over into possessiveness."

Okay, this is VERY on brand for her! To bad Fate has other plans for her! Possessiveness and jealousy is something I very much explore within her and Mad's journey. Its not so much that's she's jealous, in fact, she even blushes when it comes to a certain secret I'll keep until the second book is published, but once you understand her, its about feeling insecure in her own identity. Another aspect of the original I played with when questioning, "Who are you?"

Unbirthdays it is! A nonsensical creation from the original is a concept I warped to fit my rendition. This is Alice's first and last Birthday celebrated before she falls back into Wonderland, so be sure to celebrate it with her!
